Company formation

Company formation

Thinking of starting a new business is a very exciting time. It can also be very daunting!

If you are thinking of setting up a new business, then early contact with an accountant is the best advice that we could give to help you navigate around those early pitfalls and mistakes that can so easily be made without the right guidance and assistance.

Contact us for an initial discussion, or to arrange a consultation to discuss your business plans. We can talk you through the pros and cons of the various forms such a business could take, from sole trader, partnership, limited liability partnership, to limited company.

Lots of new businesses are set up as limited companies, and if this is right for you, we will make you fully aware of what is involved from a commercial, taxation, and legislative point of view.

There is a lot to consider, but we are here to help guide you through the process.

Once decided, we can do all the formation paperwork and HMRC notifications for you, all you have to do is decide on a name!

In respect of limited companies, Newsham & Co will form the company direct with Companies House, and then register your business with HMRC for:

  • Corporation Tax
  • PAYE if applicable
  • VAT if applicable
  • CIS if applicable (for certain businesses in the construction sector)

We will also discuss with you the best ways of organising your paperwork and financial records, and if appropriate, recommend accounting software that might be suitable now or in the near future as your business starts to take off.
